Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Oratorical Competition and Program

Join the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for the 42nd Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Youth Oratorical Competition and Program on Monday, January 18, 2027, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 18410 Chapel St., Triangle, VA. Doors open at 10:00 a.m.
Admission is free, and the community is invited to celebrate Dr. King's legacy through inspiring student performances, the Youth Oratorical Competition, and the MLK Youth Community Choir. Six outstanding middle and high school students will compete by delivering speeches that reflect Dr. King's vision of equality, justice, and service.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m., guests can also visit community organizations, small business vendors, a display of MLK program memorabilia, and participate in an optional Day of Service donation.
Founded in 1985, this annual celebration is one of the Washington metropolitan area's longest-running tributes to Dr. King. The Youth Oratorical Competition and MLK Youth Community Choir were established in 1991 to encourage youth leadership, public speaking, and community engagement.
