The WordPlayers is proud to announce its first ever Annual Cast Party fundraiser event in August! The event will be Saturday, August 16 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the St. Gregory the Great Auditorium at Catholic High School in Knoxville.
We warmly welcome sponsors, donors, patrons, and all theatre enthusiasts to join us for a joyful evening celebrating our season and honoring our talented theatre artists. It's a wonderful opportunity to come together, support the future of The WordPlayers, and enjoy a night filled with community, laughter, and inspiration.
The evening will feature a presentation of shorts from our season, starring Rachel and Ethan Norman (A Doll’s House); Alysha Mitchell (Junie B. in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells); Julie Heaton, accompanied by Ethan Norman (Sleepers, Wake!); Abigail Tardy, Amy Ruby, and Joseph Brown (Walk, Don’t Ride!); and Jimmy Sherrod, accompanied by Melony Dodson (Freaky Friday). The evening’s performances are directed by Leann Dickson and managed by Lucy Wright.
The evening will also feature virtue awards for members of production casts and crews throughout the season, honoring people of character, ambition, and drive who embody the values of The WordPlayers. The presentation of two Terry Weber Character of a Christian Thespian Awards will also be given.

Light hors d'oeuvres will be served and dressy attire is encouraged but not required. The event will be the St. Gregory the Great Auditorium at Catholic High School at 9245 Fox Lonas Road NW, Knoxville, TN 37923.
