Another year, another black history get together and hike in nature. This hike and get together should be HEAVY on the melanin and good energy. This get together is not about competition of any sorts, it’s about community, collaboration, and moving forward together. Unity isn’t an optional thing; it’s how we grow and advance as people. We’re gathering in the Oakland Hills to stand shoulder to shoulder and continue to build something bigger than any one hike/run club or banner.
What to wear?
Bring your black!! If you don’t have any black 510 gear, just wear something black. Let’s add to the solidarity of the get together. Wear shoes with traction!! Layer up as well.
We’ll have a 3.5-mile hike together option for newcomers and those with small children, and for those wanting more distance, an extended 7-mile full course meal. All together, we will meet and enjoy some time together without the need for clubs, alcohol and all the things black people are typically pointed to, in order to get together.
We will have drinks and trail snacks ready. All you got to do is make it on time and bring ya boy or that cousin you KNOW, can use some healthy walking and outdoor activity.
