The Show: Elderly siblings Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert asked the orphanage for a boy. What they got was Anne Shirley––a plucky redhead with a gargantuan imagination (and plenty of spunk!) Soon, Anne makes her way into the hearts of the Cuthberts, and the residents of Avonlea, as she grows from a (comically) mishap prone twelve-year-old to a quick-witted young woman with great asperations.
