In 2007 and 2010, Edson Acero initiated a project teaching young indigenous people from the Amazon to use documentary, stop-motion animation, and photography as tools for communication and artistic expression, promoting their unique perspectives and empowering them to create audiovisual content that reflected their interests and stories.
In 2013, he founded the Indigenous Film Festival of the Amazon, showcasing films made by indigenous individuals. This successful annual event ran from 2013 to 2017.
Simultaneously, he produced international events such as the International Congress of Indigenous Peoples of the Amazon, the International Forum of Philosophy of Venezuela (Amazonas chapter), and the International Congress of Tangible and Intangible Cultural Heritage. Furthermore, he held prominent positions in the cultural sphere, including Director of the Ministry of Culture in the State of Amazonas, Director of the National Cinematography Center of Venezuela, and Coordinator of the National Cinematheque Foundation in the State of Amazonas.
Since then, he has dedicated himself to supporting organisations and projects, including the National Film Festival System of Venezuela and cultural and educational documentaries. Recently, after settling in Devon, England, he has been working on the Orinoco project and a digital magazine focused on critical issues related to our planet and sustainability. This platform delves into the complexity of ecosystems, the interconnectedness of life, and offers practical solutions for a sustainable future.
