About this Event

Animal poems and crafts from around the world - Little Trotty Wagtail

Join us in the Regimental Chapel at Manchester Cathedral every Tuesday morning in August from 10am - 12noon for poetry reading and craft activities.

We will be reciting animal poems from around the world and doing corresponding craft activities which fit with our environmental ethos as an Eco Church.

Expect poems about birds, worms, bears, and elephants from poets from England, America, Ukraine, and Japan, plus craft activities like making bird feeders and brass rubbings.

Sessions are tailored for 7-10 year olds during the summer holidays but are open to anyone. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Water will be provided, as will craft supplies.

Animal Poems and Crafts from Around the World will be delivered by Manchester Cathedral Writer-in-Residence Tom Branfoot and Cathedral Missioner Grace Thomas.

The sessions will run as follows:

Tuesday August 6: Little Trotty Wagtail by John Clare (England)
Tuesday August 13: The Worm by Ralph Bergengren (America)
Tuesday August 20: Bear by Oleh Lysheha (Ukraine)
Tuesday August 27: Elephant by Kiji Kutani (Japan)

Separate tickets needed for each event.
