Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging at the Electric Palace
Partly shot in Eastbourne, this noughties classic captures the rollercoaster agonies and ecstasies of adolescence, but above all, the push-and-pull of teen friendships.
On the verge of turning 15, Georgia sets her sights on the new guy at school, “gorgeous sex-god” Robbie (a very young Aaron Taylor-Johnson), band member of the Stiff Dylans. Millennial cult favourite, this coming-of-age film is funny, perceptive and very, very English.
“The quirky characters are so lovable and carry that unforgettable feeling of early-teenhood experimentation.” Young Electrics. Part of Teenage Flicks.
Supported by BFI FAN and National Lottery and part of Rip it Up, a UK-wide celebration of youth culture on screen.
