Anglo Saxon Mystery
Make a booking enquiry now
An Anglo Saxon burial has been discovered on Broomfield Road but a question remains unanswered: who was this person? Working as archaeologists pupils will handle objects from the burial looking for evidence and clues to reveal who this person may have been and why they are buried here.
In an ‘Anglo Saxon village’ pupils will take on the role of apprentices learning new skills as they work alongside different people, investigating plants to use for dying wool, weaving cloth on a loom, playing the minstrels lyre and solving his riddles or learning metal working skills to make their own intricate brooches.
At a final gathering in the ‘village Long house’ we will share tales about this mystery Anglo Saxon and celebrate their life as we prepare for their burial.
