About this Event

Anger Gym Workshop

Join us for a powerful and interactive Anger Gym Workshop. Discover effective strategies to manage and channel your anger with healthy somatic* expression.

This workshop is for those who are ready to:

  • Learn the gifts of their anger
  • Find grounding amidst an overwhelming political climate
  • Release old resentments and past hurts
  • Transform anger into intention in your life
  • Rewrite the internal messages you received about anger
  • Feel supported and jointed by a circle of women

This in-person event is open to 10 women and will be held at Living Well Psychotherapy, 1740 Ridge Avenue, #007, Evanston, IL. You will be guided through various somatic and bioeneregetic techniques to help you release, express and channel your anger and other emotions through your body.

The result? A feeling of liberation, power, and appreciation of the beauty and wisdom that lies in acknowledging, processing and expressing your anger and emotions.

Facilitated by life coach and therapist Jillian Eichel-Dobray, LCPC and somatics-trained trauma-specialized therapist Ruth Minnick, LPC who have a combined 30+ years of experience facilitating and empowering women.

What people are saying:

"Participating in the Anger Gym led by Jillian and Ruth was an empowering and healing experience for me. I was challenged to stretch myself out of my comfort zone and felt safe doing so knowing these women were there to offer guidance and support. Would absolutely recommend, even doing more than once to further challenge yourself and track your growth over time. Jillian and Ruth are experts at what they do, the best example of women supporting women." A.H., Psychotherapist

"Jillian and Ruth were both well prepared, very professional, knowledgeable, & supportive in creating a very valuable experience not only for the Anger Gym Experience but also the integrations that followed that I would definitely part take in to make it a very full and complete experience. It is a very vulnerable and safe space that allowed myself and the other women to share and for all of us to learn. I highly recommend it and it is a great no matter where you are in your experience and growth work. They are a true gift and blessing and this is work I feel that all can learn from." J.C. Electrical Engineer

"5 stars for the Anger Gym workshop! This is a brilliant reframing of the power - and potential - of anger, an emotion too often billed as negative. Jillian and Ruth make a great team; I felt supported and completely safe throughout. They guide you through the what's, the why's of this emotion - and then get you into the real bodily experience of venting your anger. It is very, very powerful and I highly recommend this workshop!" - J.M., Retired School Counselor

"The "Anger Gym" workshop meant a lot to me. The coaches gave me and the other participants a meaningful walkthrough of how anger works and manifests so we can be more mindful of it. The session empowered me to accept my feelings for what they are, and I came away with many helpful techniques and thought strategies for finding peace, calm and relief from challenging feelings through the physical expression of my anger. I now feel more relaxed have more strength to take on the world. I have used the techniques from the workshop several times, and I highly recommend this experience. The coaches were knowledgeable and friendly; they were professional, and I felt very safe in the space and amongst the other participants. I would definitely participate again." - C. F., Non-Profit Marketing Professional and Musician

"I really felt liberated, my body felt completely lighter. It helped my digestion - I had started working with a specialist to make sure I’m absorbing nutrition but it seemed to be emotional. I feel super amazing! I am grateful to be alive and to be feeling everything! mean, what’s the point of being alive if we don’t feel everything?" - B. H., Photographer, Intuitive
