“Angels Devils and Mortals”
Parasol Arts welcomes another collaboration with the Atlas Tango Project on February 13th and 14th 2025 at the Dairy Arts Centre, Boulder. Parasol Arts was invited by the Orchestra of New Spain to perform “Angels and Devils” with the Atlas Tango Project in Dallas last February and the show was so successful that it was awarded a TACA pop up grant. We are proud to bring this reimagined show (originally presented in 2017) back to Colorado audiences as “Angels, Devils and Mortals” for two shows only.
“Angels, Devils and Mortals” is a stunning evening of dance blending the beauty of Ballet with the earthiness and passion of Argentine Tango all to live music by the Atlas Tango Project, formerly the Austin Piazzolla Quintet.
Internationally acclaimed Argentine Tango dancers Diana Cruz and Donato Juarez join tango dancers from Parasol Arts in “Mortals” a series of vignettes portraying different scenarios of human relationships.
Former and current Principal dancers from Colorado Ballet, Dana Benton and Jonnathan Ramirez portray an ethereal angel, representing love and light, and a sultry devil, representing fear and the dark side of human nature, in “Angels and Devils” a story of darkness and light.
Created and directed by Lorita Travaglia, this specially curated program filled with passion, drama, joy and humor will delight audience members of all ages and is a perfect Valentine’s outing.
