About this Event

Rememory and AIGA NY invite you to pause, take a breath and use your hands. An introduction to zine making using recycled materials, basic collages, and design principles hosted by Angela Pilgrim.

In this 2-hour workshop, you'll learn practical techniques for creating zines using transfers and collage with recycled materials. This session focuses on accessible printmaking methods that don't require a press.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Xerox Transfer Techniques: Understand how to transfer printed images from copy paper onto various surfaces using simple tools and technique.
  • Collage with Recycled Materials: Explore how to incorporate found and recycled materials into your zine, adding texture and interest to your pages.
  • Zine-Making Process: Combine your transfers and collage elements into a cohesive zine format, producing a personalized booklet of your work.
  • Layering and Composition: Learn effective methods for layering and arranging elements to create a visually strong and cohesive zine.
  • Consistent Results: Gain tips for achieving clean transfers and assembling the zine efficiently within the 2-hour session
    Workshop Structure:
  • Demonstration: The workshop begins with a focused demonstration of the techniques to provide you with a clear understanding of the process.
  • Hands-On Creation: Most of the class time will be dedicated to creating your zine, applying the techniques learned during the demonstration.
  • Completion: By the end of the session, you’ll have a completed zine showcasing your transfers and collages.
    What you should bring:
