Angel of Edgewood's 5th Annual Back-to-School Extravaganza w/Big Freedia

Get ready for the 5th Annual Angel of Edgewood Back-to-School Extravaganza — Connecticut’s largest back-to-school event, where community, culture, and care collide. This year’s theme, “Minds, Motivation & Mixtapes – Where Mental Health Meets the Mic!”, brings a powerful focus on wellness, inspiration, and youth empowerment.

Headlining the event is none other than Big Freedia, the Queen of Bounce, delivering high-energy support and unapologetic love to our youth. We’re also honored to welcome Dr. Javeed Sukhera, Chair of Psychiatry at the Institute of Living, and State Treasurer Erick Russell, both lending their voices to champion equity, education, and mental health.

Families will enjoy free school supplies, food, resources, live music, entertainment, and a celebration of community like no other. This is more than a back-to-school event—it’s a movement for the mind, body, and soul. Giveaways are based on a first come, first serve basis.
