From the vibrant streets of Los Angeles to the dazzling stages of international tours, Mambokat's journey is a testament to the power of reinvention.

Overcoming early challenges, he found solace and strength in dance, earning scholarships to prestigious institutions like the Joffrey Ballet. A transformative stint touring with Madonna honed his performance skills, but his true passion lay in creating his own music—a signature sound he calls Afro-Cuban Mambo Jazz.

Now, Mambokat is leading a remarkable resurgence of a forgotten musical genre and era. With his Angel & The Mambokats 15-piece Mambo-Jazz Orchestra, his smaller Mambokat Vibe Combo and his Mighty Mambokat Piano Combo he is reanimating musical arrangements not heard live in 60 to 70 years. He is also creating original compositions and arrangements inspired by these past and forgotten musical heroes.

What sets Mambokat apart is the missing ingredient he adds to this extinct style: the frontman/performer element. Much like icons such as Cab Calloway, Sammy Davis Jr, and James Brown, Mambokat fuses physical swagger with the music itself. He presses the refresh button on this elegant, mid-century mambo by guiding you on how to move to it with his magnetic stage presence and social media examples. Rebranding "Mambo Jazz" is his mission.
