Andy Kershaw is a pioneer and evangelist, bringing music from around the globe to UK audiences with more than 3 decades of programmes on BBC radio’s 1 & 3.
His obsession with finding new music has resulted in a 7.5 ton record collection, a collection garnered from having visited 97 Countries in his pursuit of new and exciting sounds. Andy Kershaw wrote the book on World Music.
He has won more Sony Music Awards than any other broadcaster, was with Radio 1 for 15 years sharing a cramped office with the John Peel, became the presenter of Old Grey Whistle Test by accident, frequently moonlighting as a foreign correspondent and war reporter.
Andy’s DJ talents are not restricted just to radio. He brings all his enthusiasm to live DJ gigs: Andy Kershaw’s African, Caribbean, & Latin Dance Night, a one man war on musical mediocrity, is a straight through 2 hour explosion of irresistible tropical dance music.

Hyde Family Jam have been bringing their lively show to the streets and stages of York since forming in 2014. They started out busking in 2017, going on to win York Culture’s Best Buskers award the next year.
While they’ve since played some major festivals and venues across the UK and Europe, this band stays true to their roots, frequently hitting the streets of York to share their folk-infused sound. Their high-energy pop covers on folk instruments have even landed them spots in two Netflix movies.
With thousands of devoted local fans and rave reviews, this is a band that stays true to its hometown roots, making every performance, whether a massive festival or tiny pub gig, into an infectious party.
