With years of combined English dance experience, as musicians, dancers and dance leaders, these three also provide enchanting couple dance music with a mix of styles spanning the globe – effervescent French bourrées, sultry Argentinian tangoes, jaunty schottisches and French love songs. Here is a rare chance to hear Andromeda live in a concert setting. Many of you know pianist Jacqueline Schwab for her role in the band, Bare Necessities, whose sound has influenced English Country dance musicians in the states and overseas for decades. Her signature solo playing features in over a dozen of Ken Burns’ documentaries, including the Civil War, Baseball, Mark Twain and others), She has performed on PBS as a soloist with The American Pops Orchestra in addition to countless solo concerts of vintage American, traditional Celtic and other music in almost every state in the Union.
Accordionist, Rachel Bell is in demand throughout North America and beyond for concerts, contra dances, French bal folk dances, English country dances, workshops, and festivals. Her playing spans an enormous range of emotion, from nuanced and sensitive to exhilarating and powerful. She is a gifted composer and, along with Susan Kevra, published their long-awaited collection of English dances and tunes, called “Trip to Provence.” You can find more info and recordings at www.rachelbellmusic.com
Susan Kevra is a clarinetist, singer and caller from Nashville, TN known locally for her English band, The English Muffins. She has spent nearly three decades teaching English country dancing, contras, squares, and French dancing across the country and the world.
