Artist's Short Bio
Andrea Franz is a Mexican American artist from Southern California. She studied graphic design at Cal State Long Beach but always enjoyed music as a hobby, and has been writing songs and making demos since she was in high school. In 2016 Andrea moved to Mexico City to participate as the backing vocalist for León Larregui's Voluma Tour, and when the tour ended Andrea decided to stay in Mexico to focus on her solo project. She has since been based in Mexico City, signed with Discos Panoram, playing shows, and has her own recording studio with her friends called Lucerna Records.
Her sound is described as "Sad Pop Rock". Mostly melancholic themes paired with upbeat, happy melodies. The majority of her musical influences are from the 60s and 70s, and their impact is noted in her modern Pop Rock style. Andrea just released her first album, Wild Idea, produced by Sergio Acosta, the guitarist from the Mexican rock band, Zoé.
