"Why Does 'Spiritual' Make Us Squirm?" by Mary Sue Reutebuch, Pastoral Minister

"Spiritual" is a word with a complicated reputation. For many of us, it carries the weight of religious experiences we've left behind—or never quite claimed. And yet something keeps nudging us toward it. A sunset. A piece of music. A moment of unexpected connection.
As Unitarian Universalists, we hold wide space for many ways of making meaning. So what happens when we turn toward this particular word with curiosity instead of caution? What might it have to offer us?
We will meet in person at our Meeting House at 2010 Whenona Drive. There is also an option to watch or listen to the service on Zoom. Check our website at www.uuprairie.org for more information.
