"VIRTUOSO" Exhibition Closing feat. JJ The Artist

Join us for the “Virtuoso,” exhibition closing at the ArtCube Gallery in Parramore on Thursday, Sept 19, in collaboration with Downtown Arts Third Thursday Orlando. “Virtuoso” runs through Sept 19 and is best seen from dusk through dawn at the ArtCube, part of Parramore Arts, a gallery without walls at Interstruct, 814 W. Church St., Orlando, FL 32805.

Also experience the intermission series (featuring local and long-distance video/digital artists) that will play until the next artist transforms the art cube for the next exhibition.

Join us for a streetside closing night in conjunction with Downtown Arts Third Thursday Orlando on Sept 19, 2024 from 6-9pm @ 814 W. Church St.; Free parking onsite & FREE shuttle from City Arts at Pine + Magnolia. FREE ADMISSION. ALL ARE WELCOME.

The ArtCube is a shipping container micro-gallery and is the centerpiece of Parramore Arts, a gallery without walls sponsored by Interstruct Design + Build. The initiative showcases free public art as a 24/7 active use experience on the West Church Corridor and is co-curated by City of Orlando public art coordinator Pat Greene, and Collab Studios founders Mariah Román and Lafayette Bradford with Interstruct CEO Ryan Young, AIA.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

“Jordan Jones, widely recognized as JJ the Artist, is a distinguished professional painter whose compelling body of work vividly represents Black culture in America. His artistic narrative weaves through themes of 90s nostalgia, the exhilarating world of sports, the pulsating energy of hip hop, and much more. JJ’s versatility allows him to work across various styles, but his forte lies in realistic portraiture. His portraits are renowned for their remarkable accuracy, capturing the lifelike expressions and true essence of his subjects with striking precision. In addition to his personal artistic endeavors, JJ is passionate about fostering a sense of community and sharing his love for art. He hosts engaging paint classes, where participants of all skill levels can learn, create, and connect through the joy of painting. His active participation in pop-up events across Central Florida provides art enthusiasts the opportunity to experience his work firsthand, contributing to the vibrant local art scene.

This summer, “Virtuoso” fine artist, Jordan Jones (also known as JJ The Artist) transformed the ArtCube Gallery into an exhibition showcasing a powerful tribute to cultural icons and Black Musicians that has inspired the artist over the years. In honor of African American Music Appreciation Month, JJ The Artist’s installation showcased a fusion of art, music, and culture. Take a journey through an immersive experience where bold colors and rhythmic energy is brought to life on canvas and video projections. Curated by Collab Studios in partnership with Parramore Arts.
