Come experience a unique evening of contemporary vibrations with Maxime Mazuyet! Immerse yourself in the incredible acoustics of the chapelle for a programme that is tailor made to hear it all. With an exciting mix of sonic explosions, the programme proposed by maxime highlights the textures and colours of the guitar in a way we have yet to hear in our concert series.
"The musical language of Maxime Mazuyet is often described as eclectic, generous and full of sensitivity.
As a soloist, Maxime regularly gives concerts in France, Belgium and the UK. He has been invited to perform at the Nordhorn Guitar Festival in Germany, the North East Scotland Classical Guitar Society in Aberdeen and the Institut Français d'Annaba in Algeria.
About the performer:
Maxime Mazuyet is the winner of several international competitions. He placed second at the Veria International Guitar Festival in Greece where he had the opportunity to play Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Guitar Concerto with orchestra. Other notable competitions include the Twents Gitaarfestival Competition in the Netherlands (Second prize), the International Guitar Competition Bale-Valle in Croatia (Second prize and audience award), the Acerra Guitar Meetings in Italy (First prize), the Pleven Guitar Competition in Bulgaria (Third prize) and the International Sigitas Silinskas Guitar Competition in Lithuania (Third prize).
After discovering classical guitar during his childhood with Eddy Rabilloud, Maxime joined the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Lyon with Jesús Castro-Balbi. He built a solid musical culture thanks to a musicology course at the Jean Monnet University in Saint-Étienne. His journey then took him to Belgium, where he trained with the renowned Greek guitarist Antigoni Goni at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel.
Maxime received a scholarship and participated in the Erasmus exchange programme, allowing him to complete his Masters at the prestigious Royal Conservatoire of Scotland with Matthew McAllister and Allan Neave.
He is greatly influenced by the French school through the teaching of Judicael Perroy and Roland Dyens in workshops and masterclasses. Besides, Maxime received advice from Thomas Viloteau.
Maxime currently plays a guitar made by Dominique Delarue."
