"Toni Honi" Premier at Thundershark Gallery

Toni Honi is a fictional work about love, capitalism, heritage, ICE, who gets to belong and at what cost. The performance incorporates drag, video art, animation, comic panels, and political theater.

This performance is about a cat named “Honi” (she/they) and dog named “Toni” (he/they). Ant Honey will play both characters Nutty Professor style!

Toni grew up in a conservative Catholic household, navigating inherited values that were never entirely yours, loving your family and disagreeing with them, finding your politics slowly.

Honi is a vagabond, exploring Queerness, drag, community-building.

They meet at a heritage month celebration where Toni agrees to be a backup dancer for Honi. They both love dance. They fall in love. Chaos ensues.
