Join us as we celebrate the opening of "Threads of Elegance and Beauty" - New Works by Sheila Fox (a.k.a. Godiva Goddess Art) on Saturday, May 11th from 6pm-9pm! Sheila Fox, also known as Godiva Goddess Art, is a talented mixed media self-taught artist from Chicago, now residing in Louisville, KY. Sheila is a mixed media portrait artist driven by her passion for art and her desire to represent and empower individuals through her creations. Growing up, she was exposed to various cultures and perspectives, which fueled her artistic exploration.
Her work is a blend of traditional mediums like acrylic paint and oil pastels, alongside unconventional materials such as wire, clay, jewelry, hot glue,and fabric etc, creating depth and texture in her pieces. Sheila's art focuses on themes of resilience, beauty, strength, and the human experience, offering viewers a glimpse into the multifaceted nature of life.
Transitioning from a full-time welder/fabricator to a dedicated full-time artist, Sheila's journey underscores her commitment to artistic expression and the transformative power of creativity in her life. Through her art, she continues to inspire, uplift, and connect with audiences on a deep and meaningful level.
Sheila was named the Emerging Artist at the 2024 LVA Honors and is a participant in the 2024 city-wide Gallapalooza. We couldn't be more excited to host her work at Grady Goods Gallery for the month of May!
