Don’t Miss the Premiere of The Novel at NoHo Cinefest! We’re excited to announce that The Novel will be screening at the 2025 North Hollywood Cinefest on Saturday, August 30th at 6:45 PM!
This moody, black-and-white neo-noir follows Calvin Connally (Ka’Prise Colvin), a struggling writer who becomes entangled with Jane Barton (Jordan Knapp), an aspiring actress reeling from the mysterious death of her father. As their connection deepens, secrets unravel and the line between truth and fiction begins to blur.
Sharing the screen with simmering tension and emotional precision, Colvin and Knapp deliver captivating performances that grip you from start to finish in this twist-laden noir.
The film is written and directed by Kellen Gibbs, an award-winning filmmaker whose debut feature Lost in Tomorrow premiered at Cinequest and was later distributed on Apple TV and Amazon. With The Novel, his second feature, Gibbs continues to hone his bold, character-focused storytelling, bringing psychological depth and visual flair to every frame.
