Li’l Andy brings his acclaimed “Hezekiah Procter” project to Aberdeen - a haunting, theatrical revival of lost 1920s country music.
Step into the world of early country, old-time and vaudeville as acclaimed Montréal songwriter Li’l Andy brings “The Complete Recordings of Hezekiah Procter (1925–1930)” to life on stage.

Part concert, part theatre, part historical séance, this unique show resurrects the music and mythology of “Hezekiah Procter” — a fictionalised string-band legend from the dawn of commercial country music. Think Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers and Charlie Poole rolled into one cantankerous, God-fearing, self-destructive genius.

Comprising a double-album and novel written by Li’l Andy, this project blurs the lines between truth and fiction. On stage, Andy is joined by Canadian folk festival favourites "Sheesham, Lotus & Son" who inhabit the characters of Procter’s world, while delivering close harmonies, banjos, fiddles and jug band grooves in the spirit of a travelling Medicine Show.

More than a gig, this is living musical storytelling — a lost chapter of music history imagined into existence. Expect beauty, laughter, darkness, and songs that sound like they have been waiting nearly a century to be heard.
