For 1979 Lebo quarterback Michael Eck, the season was his last shot at a championship and the dream he shared with his father of a Notre Dame scholarship and the chance to don the sparkling gold helmet of the Fighting Irish. Refusing to let the season and their dreams die, Michael and his teammates did the unthinkable. They practiced, played games, and coached themselves—discovering that leading a team was far messier than they ever imagined or bargained for. Strike Season is the true story of a team of teenagers who were forced to find their own way through every play, practice, and game. It also follows a legendary coach wrestling with his loyalties and a young teacher fighting for his union, capturing the intensity of a season where every storyline and character carried the weight of their future.
