"Say Their Names" Gun Violence Awareness-Root Cause Prevention At the State House

Join South Carolina For Change for “Their Legacy Lives: Say Their Names — Gun Violence ‘Root Cause’ Awareness Day at the State House,” Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM at the South Carolina State House, 1100 Gervais Street, Columbia, SC. In support of victims of crime and families impacted by gun violence, this special awareness and remembrance event will provide families who have lost a child, teen, or loved one to gun violence with a meaningful space to honor their life, say their name, and keep their legacy alive. The event will feature our Empty Chair Memorial Exhibit, representing the lives and places left empty by gun violence, while bringing attention to the root causes of violence, prevention, family healing, and community-driven solutions. If your family has lost someone to gun violence, we invite you to stand with us and help ensure that their story is not forgotten. Their life mattered. Their name matters. Their legacy lives.
