"Rough Magic" fireside story telling for adults to honour the season and our ancestors

Come join author and storyteller Bernadette Russell at PLOT 9 Leamington Court, Restell Close, Greenwich, London SE3 7RD for a magical evening of fireside storytelling and honouring of our ancestors in this most magical of seasons

"Samhain/Hallowe'en is great fun- and this event has the playful spirt of that festival with a depth, respect and beauty that I believe we all yearn for in this season of mists, magic and mystery. So I will be telling ghost stories, but i'll also be telling the oldest folktales fairytales and myths about life, death, grief, joy, spirits and the otherworld - all this around a roaring fire in this green oasis in the heart of Greenwich . It will be playful and soulful, moving and funny, and there'll be lots of opportunities to join in with the stories if you'd like to (with no obligation to do so!), and to sing together (again no obligation to sing- you can simply sit and enjoy) and together we'll co-create a shrine to all our ancestors (our blood relations, as well as those with whom we are connected to by heart and spirt, the human and the more than human both). This is a celebration of life and all it's mysteries! A place of refuge away from the troubles of the world. A place for re-enchantment. A place where you are welcome exactly as you are, with all you are feeling."

We'll be ready for you at 6.30pm ready to start with stories at 7pm (19. 00) finishes at around 9pm

Bernadette is an award winning author, playwright and storyteller. She is creative writing tutor at Treadwells Books and a regular storyteller at Butser Ancient Farm. She is storyteller-in-residence at Lesnes Abbey Wood. "Rough Magic" is a gathering to celebrate the seasons and the magic of the world with the ancient art of storytelling at it's heart.
