"Rooted" Hair & Art Exhibition

Join us this year for the "80s Pop Art & Denim" Edition! Be sure to arrive in your classic 80s era of fashion and glamour.

Rooted is a multicultural experience that embraces the art of storytelling through the eyes of girls and women born from many different roots but sharing the same inner-warrior and courage to create multicultural harmony. For centuries, hair has been a sign of individual uniqueness and expression of how one can impact the world and remove racial barriers.
This year marks the third installment of Rooted, hosted at Arrow Creative, a one-roof creative district for artists and makers. In Spring 2022, Rooted unveiled a live runway-style art walk at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens that featured the work of 20 girls of different ages, their creative processes, and custom-designed “Mane of Art,” personally modeled during the event, followed by a 3-month installation of portraits at Dixon Gallery and Gardens.
