"Phantasmagoria" -- Spring Art Show

Phantasmagoria

Four artists who are members of our Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community are proudly displayed in our Spring show “Phantasmagoria.”   Defined as ‘real or imaginary images like those seen in a dream’ the dreamscapes of our “Phantasmagoria” artists encompass watercolor collage oil and acrylic mediums. Additionally these artists define themselves as transgender queer or two-spirit. Sometimes boldly shocking in their representations other times simply sweet or ethereal each artist’s work presents their fundamental struggles with and/or embracing of the morphing of their own lives and fantasies. To follow them in their own self-discovery can be delightful expansive and disturbing and something we otherwise probably might not do. We celebrate Pride this year by deeply appreciating each other’s unique journeys of self-discovery. Come join us at the Center and take in “Phantasmagoria” running April 20th through June 15th.  The art is available for viewing and purchase during regular community hours, at the Hudson Valley LGBTQ+ Community Center, 300 Wall Street, Kingston, N. Y.
