About this Event
Come join us for another free zine-making workshop where we celebrate the vibrant stories and historic locations of Montreal's Afro-descendent Anglophone communities! This in-person event is happening on March 10th from 5:30-8:30 pm at the Tyndale St-Georges Community Centre and will be facilitated by Montreal artist Yann Pariot with a history presentation from Amanda Asomani-Nyarko. We will discover some of the key figures and live music venues from the rapidly changing and radical era of the 1960s and 70s. Drawing from images, anecdotes, and texts provided in the workshop, participants will contribute their own pages to a collaborative zine. Whether you're a seasoned zine maker or new to the scene, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to get inspired, explore storytelling and local history, and connect with others.
Please note that this workshop will be in English and is a space intended for participants of Afro-descendent heritage.
