About Laurie Hemmings

Laurie Hemmings has taught in the Ottawa Community through the Ottawa-Carleton School Board, Visual Arts Centre Orleans and the City of Ottawa for over 43 years. During this time, she has taught watercolour, drawing, design, pen and ink and calligraphy, as well as no talent workshops for events organizations in the Ottawa area.

She is an accomplished watercolour painter, having won many awards with the Ottawa Watercolour Society and Arteast. She has been a Fellow Member of the Ottawa Watercolour Society and an Associate Member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour for the last 25 years.

Laurie has had many group and solo shows in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa. As a teacher for many years, she recognizes that everyone has the gift of creativity and has been rewarded with that discovery time and time again.
