Thank you for showing interest in auditioning for Matilda: The Musical at the Historic Star Theater in Russell Springs, Ky.!The directorial team is excited to get started on this amazing production! Your hard work and dedication is imminent to the success of the production. Please know there will be many rehearsals and practices beginning in late April and continue throughout the summer. Communication with the directorial team about absences is necessary to ensure the show is ready for opening night! Consider the level of commitment you can provide when auditioning!

An imaginative girl who is clever and wise far beyond her years. She has a thirst for learning that cannot be quenched.

Miss Honey
Matilda's kindhearted teacher. She is tired of living in fear under Miss Trunchbull.

Matilda's self-absorbed, negligent mother and an amateur ballroom dancer.

Some roles (not listed above) have been pre-cast at the discretion of the directorial team. All casting decisions will be made based on audition performance and/or prior experience.
AUDITION EXPECTATIONS
Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your audition. Auditions will take place in the Norfleet Gallery, next to the Star Theater. Please be prepared to enter through the front doors of the building.
Keep in mind each audition will last approximately 15-20 minutes. Come prepared to sing a song that shows your vocal talent and is appropriate for the role you are interested in pursuing. Bring the CD or song on your mobile device. You may also be asked to sing a short rendition of a common song like "Happy Birthday".
In addition to singing, you will be asked to read some lines for one of the characters in the show.
