Join us Saturday, Oct 19 2024 at 9:30 AM for a creative and cultural experience like no other. This in-person event will take place at 2023 Dunlap St, where you can immerse yourself in the beauty and intricacy of South Indian art.

Learn the art of creating mandalas, intricate geometric designs that symbolize the universe in Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Let your creativity flow as you craft your own mandala using traditional techniques and materials.

Structure of the workshop -

Workshop for 2 hours - Take breaks whenever needed

• 9.30 to 10.00 am - Introduction to the history of a mandala (Sanskrit for “circle” or “completion”) and learn the technique with Stencils and rice flour and sand.

• 10.00 to 12.00 pm - Setting an intention on paper and placing it in the Core bowl - the fifth Element - Ether. Create the kolam ring with rice powder around the circle called the living Mandala to keep in all the positive energy. Start creating your Mandala with Symbols created for your direction using ephemeral materials.

• 12.00 pm - Final coming together to the core or the center to discuss each group's experience and letting go - clean up
