Creative spirit is a foundation of Danielle Fury's life. She was always passionate about the arts and knew at a young age it was her calling.
At age four, her time was split between the rolling mountains of Pennsylvania and arid Arizona desert, adding a unique cultural dimension to her art.
She discovered “the flow”, and the calming power it can have for an artist when feeling homesick in her hot, Arizona desert, school room. The art teacher handed her a cool, wet ball of clay, and time disappeared as she put her heart and soul into sculpting a bird.
She knew at that moment she would be an artist.
Throughout her school career, Dani was often recognized for her excellence and natural ability in the arts. She attended college in both Arizona and Pennsylvania, earning degrees in Art Education, Ceramics, and Religious Studies.
In 2009, after the birth of her two sons and searching for a way to integrate her family life with her art, she started the community art gallery and studio, Clayote. There, to include her children in her work, she began a successful after-school, therapeutic, clay program called “MudPuppies”.
In 2018, with her sons well on their own journey, Fury closed Clayote to begin a new chapter of life as a full-time artist, potter, teacher, and musician.
She currently resides in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, with her partner and Peaceful Outlaws bandmate, Richard L. Strock (Rick), his son, and their cat and two dogs.
You can find her covered in clay or paint in her studio, running a pottery class at one of the local wineries or breweries, at various art festivals selling her wares, or singing and playing her harmonica with Peaceful Outlaws at music venues across the state.
Fury specializes in colorful desert style acrylic paintings that can take an hour or several years, resin shadow boxes, pottery, and genere-surfing music. She typically works several canvases, shadow boxes, and kiln loads simultaneously, with band practice and gigs in between.
The resin shadowboxes emulate suspended freedom of movement, with the help of the clear resin pools and organic material immersed between layers of paint and clay, much like the artist's life.
Her skillfully wheeled and glazed pottery comes in all styles, prices, and sizes to fit any decor or budget, and classes are booked into the coming year.
Regardless of medium, Furys' art commands attention, and her pleasant and witty demeanor makes her classes a joy to attend.
We look forward to sharing time and art with all of you.
