Leap Into Fun, Allen!Enjoy a free entry to Allen rec centers on the first of every month.
Allen's monthly Leap Day is your chance to hop over to a rec center and experience open gym time, the fitness floor, public swim (at Don Rodenbaugh Aquatics Center) and all of the other amenities included on a day pass!
Why Leap Days? It’s simple: you asked, and we listened. This new free offering reflects community feedback and supports our commitment to building a healthy, connected, and inclusive Allen. Plus, it’s a fun way to kick off each month with the energy and spirit that define Allen.
When you “leap” into a recreation center, you can:
Discover a new activity or hobby
Connect with others in an active, welcoming space
Enjoy a break indoors
Simply play—your way!
2026 Leap Days:
The first of each month, February through December at the following facilities:
Stephen G. Terrell Recreation Center
Don Rodenbaugh Aquatics Center
Joe Farmer Recreation Center
Allen Senior Recreation Center (ages 60+)
Ford Pool (summer season only)
The Edge (always free)
Individual facility hours vary. Visit LifeInAllen.org to view a full list of current open or public hours.
If a facility is normally closed on the first of the month, for example, Allen Senior Recreation Center is closed on Saturdays and Sundays, that location will not participate in the month's leap day. City holidays are also excluded.

Please note: free entry Leap Days exclude fee-for-service programs and classes.
