If you have ever pulled at a vine on your fence and wondered whether you were making things better or worse, this one is for you.
'Know Your Vining Weeds' Sunday 20 September, 1.00 to 3.00 pm Onehunga Peoples Garden, 64 Arthur Street. Free, all welcome.
Moth plant, madeira vine, blue morning glory and Japanese honeysuckle are smothering trees and fences right across Onehunga. In two hours we will show you how to tell them apart, how to take them out properly, and what to do with the material afterwards, because every pod, tuber and fragment left lying around can start a new plant.
Bring gloves if you have them. We will have spares, along with a cup of tea.
