A community forum addressing homelessness will be held on October 13th, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM, at Kate Colin's Middle School, located at 1625 Ivy St, Waynesboro, VA 22980. Your presence and support are highly encouraged.Being a teenager can be challenging at the best of times. Yet the natural challenges are exponentially compounded when you do not have secure housing. The number of young people experiencing homelessness is steadily on the rise but not well recognized or understood. As a community, we need to grapple with this growing challenge and urgently seek to address it. Our next forum will raise awareness and provide connections and will feature:
* Dr. Ryan Barber - Asst. Superintendent of Waynesboro City Public Schools
* Ashley Witsel, MSW - School Social Worker and Homelessness Liaison, Augusta County Schools
* Isabel Posselt - Moderator
* On The Road Collaborative - teenagers sharing their knowledge and perspectives
* JimCat Elis - releasing his new song about this issue
We will also be collecting personal care supplies that can be provided as needed to students.
Socks
Underwear
Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
Mouthwash
Disposable razors (men’s or women’s)
Shampoo and Conditioner
Bodywash
Wipes
Feminine wash & FDS spray

If you can contribute, please bring supplies to the Forum - or make a donation so we can purchase them. Alternately, you can arrange to drop them off this Monday - or they can bedropped off at Promiseland Church, 850 Maple St, Staunton.
