"Hug in a Mug" for Homebound Seniors

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Kid Volunteers will work together with other volunteers to help stuff coffee mugs with treats + goodies for homebound seniors. Additionally, they can help write + tie tags as well as decorate plain white mugs with cheerful messages.

These love-filled coffee mugs will be distributed to seniors in advance of Valentine's Day. ♥

WHY IS THIS WORK IMPORTANT:

This hands-on volunteer work will benefit Pima Council on Aging (PCOA).

Pima Council on Aging helps our community members age safely in place through a variety of services, including home delivered meals, grocery shopping for seniors who can no longer drive, home repair services, caregiver support programs + help with healthcare and legal assistance.

Because of the limited number of volunteers with PCOA, their "Hug in a Mug" project enables them to reach a greater number of homebound seniors.

KIND NOTES:

This is an in-person + indoor volunteer project.

Masks are optional, based on your comfort level.

All supplies will be provided. You are welcome to bring new or gently used coffee mugs to donate to this project.

A takeaway snack will be provided for the Kid Volunteers at the completion of the project.

WHY YOU'LL BE ASKED TO PAY A FAMILY REGISTRATION FEE:

Our small family registration fee enables Crafting Kind Kids, a 501(c)(3) organization, to offset volunteer costs for this event. These fees are non-refundable. If you have to cancel your registration later, please know that your fee will go toward our efforts to create more give-back kindness projects for our kids, families + non-profit partners.
