Course Description: In this course, students will learn the skills and knowledge to evaluate an organization’s overall security posture and recommend suitable security solutions while maintaining adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and policies. This course will cover topics such as:

Monitoring and securing mobile, enterprise network, cloud and Internet of Things (IoT) environments.
Threats, vulnerabilities, and their mitigation.
Incident response; governance, risk, and compliance.
Cryptography
Data protection

The Security+ certification requires a candidate to pass a single exam. The candidate will have 90 minutes to complete the exam, which will contain a maximum of 90 multiple-choice and performance-based questions. The passing score for the Security+ exam is 750 (on a scale of 100-900).
The exam has no required prerequisites. CompTIA recommends that candidates have “A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT administration with a focus on security, hands-on experience with technical information security, and broad knowledge of security concepts”.
