About this Event

Event Description

Kona 4 Palestine invites you to a film screening and discussion of the Oscar award-shortlisted film "From Ground Zero: Stories from Gaza" (2024). From Executive Producer Michael Moore, From Ground Zero is a collection of revealing stories from 22 Palestinian filmmakers who capture their lives in Gaza amidst war.

Using a blend of animation, documentary, and fiction, they create a powerful testament to the steadfastness of the human spirit. This film serves as a remarkable reflection of how art can thrive even in the darkest times, showcasing the enduring spirit and creativity that emerge amid ongoing devastation.

Join local organizers and advocates in watching this important film (screening for the first time in the Kona district) and engage in thoughtful and civil conversation around the timely issues the film presents.

The event is free, but donations and purchase of Kona 4 Palestine merchandise are encouraged, with proceeds going to to filmmakers and direct aid in Gaza, whose people continue to be forcibly displaced by the Israeli army and settlers.

Space is limited to 40 attendees, so please RSVP.
