Fairbanks, Alaska – Interior Independent Theatre is proud to announce its upcoming production of Ntozake Shange's acclaimed choreopoem, for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow Is enuf. This powerful performance will take place at The Basement, located at 541 3rd Avenue, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Originally performed in 1976, for colored girls who have considered suicide / when the rainbow Is enuf is a seminal work that combines poetry, dance, and music to tell the stories of seven women of color. Each woman is represented by a color and shares her unique experiences with love, empowerment, struggle, and loss. The choreopoem addresses subjects such as rape, abandonment, abortion, and domestic violence, culminating in a message of unity and resilience. Due to content, this show may not be suitable for all ages. Parental discretion is advised.
