About this Event

“Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World" follows hip-hop's journey from its street corner origins to global phenomenon with insight and stories from hip hop luminaries such as Chuck D, Roxanne Shante and more. Join MPB and The Sipp FM on Feb. 2 at Jackson State University as we watch excerpts from the documentary followed by a live panel discussion featuring the director, Yemi Bamiro. The event is free, but seating is limited so registration is required.


Panel includes:

Hip-hop culture historian Charlie Braxton, MPB radio producer and DJ Java Chatman, Brad "Kamikaze'" Franklin from Third Coast Radio and "Fight the Power: How Hip Hop Changed the World" director, Yemi Bamiro.
