Texas Teen Summit Announces Media Icon Veda Loca and Distinguished Educator Dr. Shonda B. Love for 26th Annual Scholarship Award Celebration

RICHARDSON, TX — The Texas Teen Summit is proud to announce that its 26th Annual Scholarship Award Celebration will feature two powerhouse voices in the community: legendary radio personality Veda Loca as Host and renowned educator Dr. Shonda B. Love as Guest Speaker.

The gala, themed around academic excellence and community leadership, will take place on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Aqua Hall in Richardson. Joining them on stage is the 2025-2026 Spokesperson and Teen Co-Host, Triniti Chitman, representing the next generation of Texas leaders.

Meet Our Special Guests

Veda Loca (Host): A staple of DFW airwaves and a beloved personality from MAJIC 94.5, Veda Loca brings her signature energy, wit, and passion for community engagement to the stage. Known for her "keep it real" style, she has long been an advocate for youth empowerment and local talent.

Dr. Shonda B. Love (Guest Speaker): A distinguished leader in education and mentorship, Dr. Love will provide the keynote address. Her insights into academic success and personal resilience serve as the perfect catalyst for students embarking on their collegiate journeys.

​We are looking for our next winner! If you are a teen in the community, please submit your information for a chance to receive this year's scholarship.

This year’s program is specifically designed to recognize students who have achieved outstanding accomplishments both in the classroom and within their neighborhoods. The evening will culminate in the presentation of Community Scholarships, providing vital financial support to deserving local teens.
