We are proud to have Dr. Rob Abbott, MD speak for us again on this VERY valuable subject!!! "Dr. Rob" is the medical director and integrative physician at Resilient Roots: Functional and Evolutionary Medicine. Dr. Rob graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his family medicine internship at VCU-Shenandoah Valley in Front Royal, Virginia. He has completed training in functional medicine through the Kresser Institute and the Institute for Functional Medicine and was the medical advisor from 2018-2022 for Autoimmune Wellness where he conducted research and wrote about integrative approaches to autoimmune disease. He has authored peer-reviewed publications examining the efficacy of lifestyle and functional medicine therapies to treat chronic disease and is a community preceptor for students who desire clinical exposure to functional and lifestyle medicine. In his free time, Dr. Abbott enjoys trail running, poetry and contemplative practices.

Where are the proceeds from the event going?
The event sponsor, Positive Momentum, LLC, is donating ALL net proceeds, to support providing Standing/Active Desks to the Highland County Public Schools to help improve academic performance, physical health, and classroom engagement of our community's very valuable resource...our children. To date, we have donated approximately $15,000!!! Thanks to all who have come to our events or contributed, we now have these desks in three grades and adding more soon!
