About this Event
"Dancing in the Aisles" – The Ultimate Motown Experience brings the timeless sound of Motown to The Theater at North for one unforgettable night of music, memories, and electrifying live performance on Friday, September 11, 2026 at 7pm.
This high-energy production features Motown Legends from Detroit, The Shades of Blue, the iconic group that recorded the #1 Billboard hit “Oh How Happy!” in 1966. In recognition of their lasting impact on American music, The Shades of Blue were inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Hall of Fame in 2015.
The all-star cast includes some of Motown’s most celebrated performers:
- Stuart Avig, one of only five original Motown artists still actively touring, original lead singer of The Valadiers, and the voice behind the 1961 Motown hit “Greetings (This Is Uncle Sam).”
- Charles Davis, former lead singer of The Contours, who toured internationally on the Dirty Dancing Tour performing the classic “Do You Love Me.”
- Delbert Nelson, former lead singer with the legendary The Funk Brothers.
- Raymond Ward, former lead singer of The Fantastic Four.
- Sheila Taylor, niece of Levi Stubbs of The Four Tops.
- Baby Ray Moore, renowned drummer who has performed with Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Ali Woodson of The Temptations.
- Tom Loncaric, highly accomplished keyboard/piano player and musical director that has played behind everyone from Little Anthony to The Miracles and many more.
Get ready for dynamic choreography, breathtaking harmonies, dazzling costumes, and first-class showmanship. The production delivers a thrilling musical journey through Hitsville USA, celebrating the legendary catalog of The Temptations, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Four Tops, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas, Michael Jackson, The Spinners, and many more.
Whether swaying in their seats or dancing in the aisles, audiences will experience a night that captures the heart and soul of America’s most beloved songbook.
