Building strength in the body allows us to move through all facets of life with more ease and this can extend to our physical yoga classes.Adding a weight lifting/strength training practice to our movement routine can help cultivate moments of strength and ease in our yoga postures. You might be surprised how the yoga postures and weight lifting movements overlap.
This workshop is for any yoga practitioner or other mover curious about adding resistance training to their routine. We will explore how to make a well rounded program while also prioritizing areas of focus (like a tricky posture you want to feel more confident in). Students can expect to walk away with a worksheet containing a plan to begin their routine.There may be some movement in this workshop, though most of the time will be spent discussing, learning, and planning. Come prepared to do a few squats/chair poses, but also listen and write!
