Join us for a lunch lecture at the Old State House Museum with Dan Richards, Kenneth Hiley and Chloe Hiley, as they present “Capturing a Masterpiece: Laser Scanning E Fay Jones’ Faubus House.” Bring your lunch; soft drinks and water provided. In 2024, the E Fay Jones Conservancy was awarded a grant from the Division of Arkansas Heritage to produce a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scan of the Faubus House in Huntsville, Ark. The house was designed in 1965 by renowned architect E Fay Jones, who designed many well-known buildings across the state. Richard, Hiley and Hiley will give a behind the scenes look at how the scan was performed and hosted online and will also have a brief discussion about laser scanning and its applications in the world of historic preservation.
Dan Richards graduated from Drury University with a degree in architecture and works as a licensed architect. Chloe Hiley graduated from the University of Arkansas with a B.S. in architectural studies. Kenneth Hiley graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Architecture and works as a licensed architect.
