"BORN A KING" Book Launch

This is the official launching of BORN A KING. It is my first non-fiction book, having written three prior novels all set here in New Hampshire. This is a very important season with election day arriving all over the state and country. John King is the only man in the state to have held office in three branches of government: legislature, executive and judicial. He believed in the process of campaigning and the importance of honest elections. This book returns to King's Irish roots, traces his winning campaigns, and ends in his position in the State Bench. In between the reader will learn about his family, dogs, camp, jeep, and love of this state. I am the witness to it all. It has local color and is perfect for such a political season.

I am a retired High School /College teacher. I grew up here in Manchester, NH, and hold a master's degree. I am interested in History and Politics and so combined them in this book, starting with my Irish heritage and leading into my family's involvement in politics. My uncle is the main character in this book, former Governor John King. I tell the story from the eyes of this young girl who grew up with her family in the newspaper as the governor's niece. Much of my youth was spent involved in politics, and part of who I became naturally led to my teaching US History and Government, but with Politics always at its core.
