About this Event
St William of York Annual Lecture in Theology
It is often said, and rightly, that the crucial question of our time is the question of man: what is the human being? The secular establishment proposes utilitarian answers, as it must; the Church meanwhile, goes deeper, proposing an account, not only of our origin in God, but of our finality, which is to become partakers of divine nature — or, more straightforwardly, to become saints. How to articulate such an outlandish perspective credibly in this day and age?
