About this Event
Atlanta Is… A Story That Needs to Be Told
Event Type: Podcast Q&A / Producer Panel
What stories about Atlanta haven’t you heard yet?
Georgia State University Special Collections and Archives invites you to dive into the creative process behind “Atlanta Is…”, the documentary podcast uncovering the city’s lesser‑known histories, cultural moments, and community legends.
Join Atlanta‑based journalists Maurice Garland, Christina Lee, and Jewel Wicker for an in‑depth Q&A on how the series came together and why elevating these voices matters. From music and film to education, politics, entrepreneurship, nightlife, and more, “Atlanta Is…” uncovers stories that are rarely told or never fully explored.
The podcast is produced under Will Packer Productions, COMPLEX, and iHeart Radio and highlights Atlantans from every walk of life, from Senator Raphael Warnock and Ludacris to local barbershop owners and neighborhood icons.
