People can register through the library website starting July 1: https://oakcreeklibrary.org/events/#/events/.This talk gives an overview of the Arctic ecosystem, the changes that are occurring there, and the policy structures, both domestic and international, that govern this unique environment.
Presenter Alyson Fleming is a research faculty at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Her research focuses on cetacean ecology and climate change biology. Previously, she worked with the National Marine Fisheries Service and the U.S. Department of State on marine conservation. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) where she also served as a policy advisor to the Smithsonian MarineGeo Program, an international network of marine observatories. Fleming received her PhD from Scripps Institution of Oceanography and her B.S. from Tufts University.
